Class IV Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver Fits Select Toyota Tacoma

Class IV hitches are very similar to Class III hitches except for the weight ratings.
Class IV hitches are Weight Carrying (WC) and Weight Distributing (WD) hitches depending on the vehicle and hitch specifications. Not all Class IV hitches are rated to be both. Please see the Specifications tab above for the weight carrying and weight distributing ratings (if applicable) for this hitch.
Class IV hitches used as Weight Carrying are rated up to 10,000 lbs. Gross Trailer Weight (WCGTW) with a maximum trailer Tongue Weight (WCTW) of 1,000 lbs. Hitches that are used for weight distributing are rated up to 14,000 lbs. Weight Distributing Gross Trailer Weight (WDGTW) with a maximum trailer Weight Distributing Tongue Weight (WDTW) of 1,400 lbs.
This style of hitch typically uses a 2" square receiver opening. The use of a ball mount and hitch ball of the same rating or higher is required for weight carrying. To use the weight distribution side of the hitch a weight distribution system is required.
Class IV hitches attach to the vehicle frame only.

quality control was poor ...the flat bar...quality control was poor ...the flat bar that is welded to the 2x2 hitch reciever and bolted with two bolts to the truck frame was bent most likely do to welding stress there was a 1/8" gap between the bar and the truck frame when the left nut was taken up snug. i could not get the right side of the bar to takeup to the truck frame when torqued to 50 ftlbs........ the fix was to bend the flat bar which would have required a lot of heat and force which i did not have access to. instead i installed two washers between the bar and the truck frame to takeup the 1/8" space. both the left and right nuts were torqued to 50 ftlbs and seemed to be tight and secure against the frame......Please advise as your concurrence to the adequacy of this arrangement.
